Kiakiali has over 2 decades of editorial experience in every genre of fiction to many in non-fiction. Since 1995, Kia has been facilitating writers' groups, read & critiques and providing many other services to writers in the Los Angeles area, Northern Virginia and currently in San Diego's North County.
Kia is affiliated with various writing communities throughout San Diego County, such as A Word With You Press & its Club House in Oceanside & PWSD & Writer's Ink, as well as many smaller local groups of writers. She reads at open mics at the Club House, E-Street Cafe & Ducky Waddles, has participated in the Full Moon Poet's Slam at the La Paloma and attends various other read & critiques. Kia has served as a judge for the San Diego Book Awards and books she edited have been nominated, as well.
Kia facilitates a writers' group in Encinitas and a Healing Through Writing workshop in Carlsbad. Currently she is accepting participants for both an Artist's Way and Walking in This World workshop. Soon, she may be holding workshops & writers' groups in Hill Crest at Cafe Libertalia.
Recently, she won 1st prize in A Word With You Press' "One Tight Write" Contest by summarizing a life in 50 words.
